December 15, 2007 I'm producing Unsilent Night in San Francisco again this year! It's our fifth annual performance -- if you don't know about this wonderful FREE boombox concert, please read more about it here.

December 2 Print's RDA is out now, and I've also got pieces in the current I.D., Artweek, and CMYK. The big news, however, is that I'm currently the voice of Santa for his blog on Santa.com! Otherwise, I'm working up promotional ideas for Celery and copy and design ideas for Isabel Samaras's book for Chronicle. Who said December was slow for freelancers?

August 29 Lots going on -- last week I finalized a plan to do a book on the art of Isabel Samaras for Chronicle Books! Excellent! Also finished several pieces for Print's 2007 Regional Design Annual (I was a judge for the Western States), which comes out in November.

Finally, I'll be reading at the Aqus Cafe in Petaulma for "Boundaries and Intersections," the Tiny Lights contribution to Sonoma Word on Wednesday, October 10, at 7:00 PM. (Oh, hey, my Honda commercial is finally online -- go here and click on 'Honda Spots.')

July 4 Last week, The California Report ran my piece about dogs being trained to sniff out insect pests in vineyards. Listen here!

May 7 Last Friday, the California Report ran my piece on the increased number of abalone divers' deaths.

March 14 FANTASTIC news! Print, where I'm a contributing editor, and I.D., for which I write very regularly, were each today nominated for an American Society of Magazine Editors' award! It's like the Oscars of journalism; here's the scoop.

March 12 The new issue of I.D. has a couple of my stories in it, including a cool study of the new Saks Fifth Avenue logo, designed by Pentagram.

March 5 Just got my March/April copy of Print, where I wrote two profiles on two young designers: Erik Adams and Mike Piscitelli.

March 4 I'm the featured writer this month at "Searchlights and Signal Flares," the working writer's section of Tiny Lights, Susan Bono's journal of personal narrative.
